In a hugely important game at the top of the Eastern section of the Ryman Youth League, Croydon Youth Team rose to the task with a 3-1 win away in Maidstone.

After being put on the backfoot in the first 5 minutes and conceding an early goal, the boys got a break before half time when a reverse pass from Fonguck was met by Ademiju in the box and the keeper brought him down. Sandah stepped up to dispatch the penalty to take the sides in 1-1 at HT.

In the second half, Maidstone created few chances and the game swayed in Croydon’s favour when a long ball by Bird was met by the pacey Ademiju and he lifted the ball over a helpless onrushing keeper.

The game was sealed with 10 minutes to go when Kieran Rudder dropped a shoulder, skinned the defender and smashed a shot past the keeper to make it a happy journey home for the young Trams.
