Kinetic graduate Myles Kenlock made his Championship debut last weekend and made a key contribution in Ipswich Town’s dramatic 3-2 win over MK Dons.

The 19-year-old, who was part of the very first intake of scholars at Woodcote High School, played in Town’s 2-1 FA Cup loss to Portsmouth in January.

But with just two league games left, manager Mick McCarthy is looking to blood his talented youngsters. That meant starting places for Kenlock at left-back and Josh Emmanuel at right-back.

Kenlock, who looks set to retain his place for tomorrow’s match at Derby, crossed for Luke Varney to head home the last-minute winner against MK Dons.

McCarthy said: “And then we won it and Myles Kenlock, who I thought was excellent, one real plus point out of the game, out of the season looking at him, crossed brilliantly and Varney got on the end of it.

“It’s convinced me that I’ve got two young full-backs that can actually play in the team, if I was thinking of looking elsewhere.

“They’re both young still, both only 18 or 19 the pair of them, and they’ve done really well. I’m delighted with them.”

Kenlock was picked up by The Tractor Boys in 2014 and began training with the U21s, aged just 17.

Myles made his competitive debut against Stevenage this season in the first round of the Capital One Cup and was on the bench at Old Trafford when Ipswich were beaten by Manchester United in round three.
