On the 16th December 2013 Andre Villas-Boas was the latest manager to be sacked by the premier league club Tottenham Hotspur after suffering a 5-0 defeat at home to Liverpool. This dismissal once again sparks the long term debate about giving managers enough time in a job. With this particular sacking, Villas-Boas had a good record overall as Tottenham manager, averaging 1.83 points per league match, the highest of all Spurs bosses in the Premier League era.

After recent results have gone against AVB, the chairman felt it was necessary for himself to part company with AVB and seek guidance elsewhere. It goes to show that in the premier league no managers job can be seen as safe after a poor run of results.
