Celebrating International Women’s Day the Kinetic Way

We brought together women in sport, male-dominated industries and our Girls programme participants for an afternoon of listening and learning, followed by some amazing friendly competition on the pitch – a very different way to network!

We started at the adidas LDN Flagship Store, with a panel featuring four incredible women:

- Alex Bailess, Content Creator and Presenter
- Hannah Charlton, Legal Counsel at Barclays Investment Bank
- Holly Halliday (She/her), Construction Manager at Mace Construct
- Remmie Williams, Football Agent at Tongue Tied Management

They all brought inspiring insights on how to find your path and thrive in it; be it in football, wider sport or a male-dominated industry. Two themes arose from the conversation: how we all build and understand confidence; and the power of mentoring and asking for advice – whether in a structured setting or from those we look up to.

We followed the panel with a Q&A with Arsenal Football Club's own Michelle Agyemang and Katie Reid, who spoke openly and honestly about their own journeys, dealing with pressure and setbacks and the power of backing yourself, believing in yourself, and being role models for the next generation.

Concluding the afternoon part was open floor networking (and a bit of shopping with a special on-the-day discount), where the girls on our programme got to connect with the amazing people in the room and learn more about what roles exist out there as they consider their own next steps.

The day didn’t end there though, we wouldn’t be ourselves without combining off and on the pitch activities! We hopped over to Hackney, where we were joined by teams from Tongue Tied Management, London Marathon Events and Citi for an evening of football, food and networking based around a shared pitch. Thank you all for joining us, and creating such an incredible atmosphere on a cold dark Wednesday night in Hackney - we wouldn't have been able to do this without you!

Experiences like this are what truly shapes paths for some of the young people we work with, and w cannot thank everyone involved enough for making it happen. Here’s to another year of opening doors and introducing our girls to real, incredible role models to look up to and aspire to follow.
