ST MARY’S UNIVERSITY PROGRAMME
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
We have partnered with St Mary’s University London to create a clear academic and sporting pathway into higher education for young footballers, supporting wider participation and progression into university study.
Developed with Sport St Mary’s and the University’s academic departments, the partnership enables both Kinetic Academy graduates and other aspiring football players to combine undergraduate study with structured football training and competition, supported by experienced Kinetic coaches and St Mary’s facilities and student support environment.
Talented footballers can apply to study across the full range of degree programmes offered by St Mary’s, while benefiting from performance-focused coaching, competitive fixtures and access to Kinetic’s football network, including showcase matches and talent identification opportunities.
St Mary’s students studying sport-related disciplines will also gain practical experience by supporting elements of the programme in areas such as performance analysis, strength and conditioning, and sport rehabilitation.
Additionally, Kinetic coaching staff support St Mary’s men’s first and second football teams in the BUCS leagues. To date, Kinetic coaches have played a part in 82 players from the Kinetic Academy signing for professional clubs.

ST MARY’S MEN’S FOOTBALL
At St Mary’s Men’s Football (better known as Simms FC), we have 5 teams that compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competitions, making us the biggest club at the university. All 5 teams are competitive, with the 1s being our strongest team. We have a place for everyone, from the best players to the lads who just want to make new friends and enjoy the social side of football.
We may train and play in our separate teams, but our club is one big family. We play every Wednesday and train 2x per week. Each team has 10 league matches, a cup competition, and then the final game of the year is played in the West London Varsity.
Our club is inclusive, with members of the club coming from many different corners of the globe. We hold fundraisers for our club and for charities. We have socials every Wednesday evening, where all players and supporters are invited to attend for some social games with fun themes. We occasionally join up with other clubs for joint socials too.
Our club judges players by their physical and technical performance, their understanding, and their attitude. Each of these values can be perfected before stepping onto a football pitch and takes no talent to possess. We respect all opponents and fear none. The lads are excited to meet all the new members this season!
