We took a group of 36 young people from across our Kinetic Academy programme up to Yorkshire last week. Some key highlights and outcomes:
🔘 Four games played against professional club academies – Hull City (U16s & U18s), Huddersfield Town Football Club and Barnsley
🔘 Several players invited for trials and asked about by clubs played and other scouts in attendance
🔘 “Great experience”, “First time getting this sort of opportunity” and “Really grateful” came up most frequently in feedback from our young people who came on the tour
🔘 For some of our young people on the tour, it was their first time away from home. It was also an opportunity to mix with others that they wouldn’t usually do so, aligning with one of the aim’s of our Project United residential tours – ‘to unite young people from across our Kinetic Academy programme in London’
🔘 Workshops on Kinetic values and culture along with other key topics such as sleep, diet, recovery, responsibilities and respect both on and off the field
🔘 Team bonding activities including bowling and a group meal
🔘 Kinetic Academy graduates Sincere Hall (Hull City) and Rarmani Edmonds-Green (Huddersfield Town) came to talk to our young people about their time at Kinetic, their personal experiences on their journeys so far as well as handing out advice and emphasising on the importance of the education side of the programme
🔘 U18s got to go to Bramall Lane to watch Sheffield United vs. Middlesbrough in the Championship, thanks to Kinetic graduate Rhys Norrington-Davies who sorted us out the tickets
This is the 4th Project United tour, with Manchester, Bath and Glasgow previously visited. The aim of our ‘Project United’ residential tours is to unite young people from across our Kinetic Academy programmes in London offering them additional opportunities to showcase their talent against professional academies, team bonding activities, workshops on key topics, post-match video analysis sessions and much more!
