A graduate who secured a place at the University of Portsmouth has paid tribute to Kinetic for helping him do so.
Carlos Ortega, 19, progressed through the full-time programme and he now studies sports development on the south coast.
Carlos was part of the Gothia Cup winning team of 2013 and took community sessions during his time at the foundation.
He said: “If you want to do coaching, I would say Kinetic is really good. They have lots of various avenues you can go down.
“I went through the whole process and I didn’t really step back and realise that everything I’ve done since, is because of Kinetic.
“They (Kinetic) do succeed in the development of young people.”
Once he completes the four-year course, Carlos has aspirations to become either a football coach or a scout.

But he first wants to travel the globe to build his knowledge of different styles and cultures.
He said: “It’s intriguing how different kids get coached.
“Especially in places like South America – or maybe it’s just natural ability.
“Then there’s the German style, which is very robotic in a sense. It’s all very deliberate.
“Every player has a job and you do your job.
“It’s a contrast to someone like Guardiola, who has worked with a lot of South American players, to create a more free-flowing kind of football.
“I like working with young people. Developing them and seeing their progress.
“As a coach, I’d want to give them the same opportunities – if not better ones – than I had.”
