“When students participate in sports there is a positive association with academic performance/engagement” (Lidner, 2002; Field et al., 2001)

We are proud to announce some further outcomes of a report into the impact and effectiveness of the Kinetic Academy programme on student outcomes and exit routes. The study was carried out at one of our partner schools, Harris City Academy Crystal Palace (HCACP), by 3 University of Bath Master’s students – James Walker, Ben Abrahams and Keita Koizumi.

Role of Kinetic in academic engagement/performance:

⦁ 93% of students reported the Kinetic Academy programme has helped their academic performance and engagement

⦁ 86% of students reported that the programme has helped their university and non-football career prospects

⦁ Most students leave school with one or two grades higher than they start with

⦁ All students reported the programme has helped their football career prospects

⦁ Students spoke enthusiastically about Kinetic showcase events and the frequency of matches against professional academies

It was great to read the report to help us identify how our programme has impacted on students education and lives as well as understanding the impact of the Kinetic Academy programme on the school’s profile with a particular focus on staff, student and teacher satisfaction.
