We recently spent the day with former professional footballer Rio Ferdinand where he learnt all about the work we do as a registered charity as well as hearing the stories of Brave, Dante, Blake, Josh and Rory. They all got to hear first hand experience of growing up in London and playing at the top level of football from someone widely regarded by many as one of England’s greatest ever players.
Rio Ferdinand made over 500 appearances in the Premier League, winning 6 Premier League titles, 1 Champions League, 3 English League Cups, 4 English Community Shields and a FIFA Club World Cup as well. He also played 81 times for the England national team and was a member of 3 FIFA World Cup squads.
Brave, Dante, Blake, Josh and Rory got to discuss with Rio the best players he had played with and against, his time at Manchester United, playing international football for your country and also the struggles he faced growing up in London.
